Cresta Forges Ahead in 1st Quarter of 2011
Cresta Motor Yachts has had a very productive first quarter of 2011. Firstly, Cresta is pleased to announce that the ‘70 Motor Yacht’ will be Australasia’s first vessel to demonstrate the highly anticipated 3rd Generation IPS, IPS – 1200. Secondly, Cresta has enhanced the styling of its 70 Motor Yacht with help from Sam Sorgiovanni-arguably the world’s leading Superyacht and Luxury Motor Yacht designer. Thirdly, Cresta has made tremendous progress on the production front, with Vessel 1 having been successfully released from the mould, the interior now taking shape and the hull and deck join imminent. Finally, Cresta has recently launched its all new corporate website.
VOLVO PENTA PROPULSION AGREEMENT
Cresta is pleased to announce that, together with Volvo Penta, the Company will provide Australasia with its first experience of the all new IPS – 1200. The 70 Motor Yacht is now set to raise the bar in luxury motor yacht quality and performance. The triple installation offers owners a massive 2700hp of standard pod drive propulsion. “Conservative performance predictions are pointing towards a maximum speed upwards of 40 knots, with a range of 600NM at a cruising speed of 26 Knots” said Gavin Rooney, Regional Application Engineer, Volvo Penta Oceania. The‘70 Motor Yacht’ will also feature Volvo’s highly acclaimed Sport Fish Mode and DPS (Digital Positioning System).
Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Tim Ballintine commented,
“It is straight forward- this propulsion package will allow Cresta owners to get out faster, stay out longer and explore further than any other vessel in its class”.
In commenting on the agreement Andrew Nicholson, National Sales Manager, Volvo Penta Oceania said,
“This exciting agreement paves the way for a first class vessel to demonstrate first class performance. We are very pleased by this development with Cresta”.
ENHANCEMENTS BY SAM SORGIOVANNI- EXTERIOR STYLIST
Sam Sorgiovanni needs little introduction, he is arguably the world’s leading superyacht and luxury motor yacht designer. Given Cresta’s philosophy on attracting the best personnel in the business, it seemed a natural progression that Cresta would approach Mr. Sorgiovanni to be a part of the Cresta team. Mr Sorgiovanni has contributed significantly to the profile of the 70 Motor Yacht.
“Cresta vessels have always carried a distinctive signature look, especially with the flare in the bow and knuckle in the sheer line. I was able to add some of my own style and influence to the superstructure of the 70, which has helped complement both the hull and superstructure, whilst still maintaining that very distinctive Cresta profile” said Sam Sorgiovanni.
PRODUCTION UPDATE –BOAT 1
From the production yard, Boat 1 has been successfully removed from the hull mould, with much of the accommodation having been completed inside the mould. The hull and deck join is due to take place within the next few months and the vessel is due to arrive on Australian shores in the final quarter of 2011.
“The production team is thrilled with the progress and results thus far. As each day passes and 3D modelling formalises the shape of the vessel and we can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel for Boat 1. The forthcoming commencement of Boat 2 (70 Open Flybridge), in time for its U.S.A launch in 2012 is also very encouraging.” Peter Newman, Head of Production said.
THE CRESTA SALES STRATEGY
With the Australian Boat show season now upon us and the completion of the New 70 Motor Yacht with Triple Volvo Penta IPS – 1200, 5 star interiors, exceptional standard benefits all retailing for under AUD $3.5 million, it’s most certainly going to pique the interests of buyers currently in the market .
“Similar vessels, with significantly less propulsion are up to twice the price so we think it’s undeniably worth the wait. At this value the 70 Motor Yacht even stands up against the second hand market” said Tim Ballintine, VP Sales and Marketing.
