Cresta is committed to quality in all that we do. It is not by chance that the first Cresta vessels in 1965 still enjoy the world’s harbours, rivers and oceans today.

People say you can spot a Cresta from a mile away.  Even in this saturated white boat world, the Cresta lines remain distinctive amongst a world of ubiquitous white boats.  It is a testament to the design team that the Cresta curves and characteristics have been maintained, yet modernised over the course of nearly five decades.  No yard can lay claim to the ‘knuckle’ in the sheer line, but Cresta is certainly amongst the leaders.  Paints, composites, antifoul, gelcoats, and technology will always change and develop over time, but no motor yacht brand should ever turn its back on heritage.  Tradition and heritage is something that is innate to Cresta. Five decades after the very first Cresta vessel left the yard, the distinctive Cresta exterior design remains, however contemporarised to reflect excellence in exterior styling.

Without the necessary UV protection, your vessel can suffer lifelong damage. Cresta uses only the best gel coat on its exterior white surfaces.  DSM, the supplier to all leading boat yards for many decades, supplies Cresta with its gelcoats.  For coloured exterior surfaces (like a dark hull) Cresta paints the surface as opposed to using gel coat.  We do this because we know gel coat can become relatively unstable when subjected to increased temperatures and high levels of UV.  Dark hulls in warm climates are a potentially fatal combination.  However, heat can penetrate to the core of the vessel, which is why in areas that are subject to thermal instability we use Corecell M, which has a heat tolerance of 115 degrees Celsius.  This is vital for markets like Australia, The Middle East and South Florida.

Whilst the performance of your vessel greatly depends on the propulsion package you select, the running surface is just as important.  The advantage of employing in house naval architects rather than external consultants is that they will work tirelessly to get the best out of your hull.

Maximising speed and efficiency allows you to get out faster, stay out longer and explore further without the need to refuel.  This is not achievable without a collaborative effort and a long term relationship with propulsion and surface package suppliers.  Cresta evaluates all technologies to give it that extra knot or extra nautical mile; to place you above the rest.  It could give you that extra edge to winning ‘that tournament’, allow you to walk ‘that island’ or avoid ‘that storm’.  That is why a Cresta vessel can go above 40 knots and can travel thousands of nautical miles- we put in the extra time and have all the resources at our fingertips.

Cresta’s deck hardware, be it portholes, hatches, winches, sunroofs or stainless steel, is subject to all the elements Mother Nature can imagine.  Salt, wind and UV can be a terrible combination for corrosion and deterioration.  Utilising leading brand deck hardware like Muir, Lewmar, Besenzoni and Tecnoinox ensures you get the maximum life out of these vulnerable items.  All stainless steel is 316 high marine grade.

Cresta understands your time on the water is precious - you should be spending your time sailing and not fixing, polishing and maintaining your vessel.  Undertaking the standard Cresta measures will go a long way to decreasing dock time and increasing your play time. Cresta is ensuring that in 100 years time people are still saying ‘you can spot a Cresta a mile away’-  “Quality, Workmanship and Dependability since 1965.”
