Cresta is committed to quality in all that we do. It is not by chance that the first Cresta vessels in 1965 still enjoy the world’s harbours, rivers and oceans today.

Structure

The Cresta Motor Yachts brand is synonymous with ‘The Cresta Ride’.  This is achieved by exact science and complex hydrodynamic modelling.  Cresta is tireless in its aim of realising the optimal strength to weight ratio.  Enabling our owners to get out faster, stay out longer and explore further.  Long gone is the boat building philosophy that weight equals strength. Today, owners are far more aware of the modern capabilities of boat science.

Cresta vessels comply with all material and structural production requirements of ISO12215. Cresta steers clear of cheap and absorbent composite materials like balsa and open cell cores, plywoods, and polyester resins.  It is these materials that are found all too commonly in production boats.  These materials lead to rotting, water absorption, osmosis and a high probability of print through.  These boats become heavier, suffer greater fatigue and are low quality.

Cresta uses high end closed cell cores, carbon fibre, vinylester resins, Airex, R63, corecell and hand laid multiaxial fibreglass in specific areas throughout the boat, keeping the weight down and strength up.

Vinylester resin is used in every structural component throughout the vessel - the hull, topsides, deck, house, bulkheads and girders.

Cresta sets itself apart with the integrity of engine foundations.   Stainless steel plates with high tensile stainless steel studs are imbedded into the structure during lamination, no holes are ever drilled through the engine girders. All tanks are integral and meet the requirements of the ISO.  The surfaces are coated prior to closing with appropriate high performance paints.  Cresta pressure tests all its tanks (to ensure there are no leaks) and have inspection hatches for easy cleaning and servicing.

Structure and safety go hand in hand.  Our Naval Architects ensure all vessels are designed with watertight horizontal and vertical subdivisions using integral tanks. This minimises flooding in the event of a collision or grounding, subsequently increasing the survivability of the vessel.

From carbon fibre to 316 stainless steel fittings, Cresta is determined to remain at the forefront of luxury motor yacht production. The production process truly reflects what Cresta is all about -“Quality, Workmanship and Dependability since 1965”.
